Review and Giveaway: Erin Baker's Wholesome Baked Goods

If you've been a reader for a while you know that my kids (3 year old twins and a 20 month old) are picky eaters.  I have tried all sorts of things to get them to eat with varying degrees of success.  I know that many of you are dealing with picky eaters too and are looking for ways to feed them food that is healthy and tasty.  Well, look no further!  I was sent some Erin Baker's Wholesome Baked Goods to review and I thought I would put them to a real test.  Would my picky girls like them?

My Erin Baker's Taste Test
Little C loved the Breakfast Cookie Mini - Oatmeal Raisin flavor.  She summed up her experience the way only a 20 month old could.  "Yummy!" she called out after tasting it.

I agree, though I will elaborate.  This tasted just like a big soft cookie you would get at the mall.  But unlike those cookies, it is all natural, has no trans fats and is made with whole grains.  I usually have breakfast around 6:30 am and start to feel hungry at 10am.  This is the perfect thing to have to tide you over.

When the twins come home from preschool they are always eager for a snack.  Usually they will have goldfish or pretzels.  When I showed them the cookies they were really excited to try them.

I gave all the girls samples of two breakfast cookies: Double Chocolate Chunk and Fruit and Nut and a Peanut Butter Breakfast Cookie Mini.

"A" gobbled down the peanut butter cookie and ate the fruit and nut one next.  She saved her chocolate cookie for last.  When she bit into the peanut butter one she said "MMMMMMM."  I had to urge her to slow down, as she was just shoving the cookies into her mouth.

I later asked what she thought of the cookies and she replied "they were good."  She said her favorite was the chocolate.  B is not a big fan of sweets so I was curious about how she would react.  She had some of her chocolate and fruit and nut cookie and ate all of the peanut butter.  I think she really enjoyed the more savory taste of the peanut butter cookie.

I have a confession to make.  We did not share all the goodies with the kids.  My husband and I ate the Organic Brownie Bites ourselves for dessert!  At 100 calories or less this made a great after dinner treat.  The consistency was between a cookie and a cake and you could really taste the freshness in every bite.  Not to mention the luscious chocolate flavor.  This would satisfy any sweet tooth.  I will say that I had a bite of it out of the package and then warmed the rest up in the microwave for a few seconds.  I preferred it warm because it reminded me of a freshly baked brownie.  Hubby had his at room temperature and loved it as well.

Hubby and I also tried the Peanut Butter Granola.  I am a granola lover and I love how you could smell the peanuts as soon as you opened the bag.  Hubby thought it would go great with vanilla yogurt.  I am not a fan of  granola in yogurt, but I enjoyed it with milk.

We had such fun tasting these yummy baked goods and if we had to pick one we liked the best, we would pick the Fruit and Nut Breakfast Cookie. I thought it reminded me of an oatmeal cookie which I am very partial to, and Hubby liked the fruit flavors.

One of my favorite things about these products is the fact that they are not just for breakfast.  Sure they make a nutritious way to start the day, but they make great snacks throughout the day as well.  I love that I can split half of an Original Breakfast Cookie between my 3 kids, serve it up with a glass of milk and have them all feeling satisfied and not whining about how they want something else.  Not that my kids ever whine.

Want to know more about Erin Baker's Wholesome Baked Goods?  These products are made with only the freshest wholesome ingredients (hence the world wholesome in the name).  I discovered that everything they make is baked to order and you can really taste this in all their products.  They offer a variety of items such as Homestyle Granola, Brownie Bites, Breakfast Cookies and Breakfast Cookie Minis.  This is food that you will feel good feeding your kids and you will feel even better when they actually eat it.  They make a great on- the-go meal or snack for busy families.   Erin Baker's shares special promotions and great information on their Facebook and Twitter pages.  So go and become a fan and follow them.

Disclosure:  I was sent this product for review.  All opinions expressed are my own.  I received no monetary compensation for this review.  I did it all for the cookie... the cookie.
