Today’s coffee filter art project stretched over a few days. It started as one thing and turned into something else. Life is like that a lot, huh? So let’s start the journey.
I wanted to do some fine motor practice with the girls and I thought color mixing might be a fun way to do it. I ordered some pipettes from Oriental Trading a while back and had not had a chance to use them yet. Don’t worry if you don’t have pipettes. I have done this in the past with medicine droppers and it has worked just as well. The supplies I used: ice cube trays, pipettes, food coloring, coffee filters, and a waterproof plate or tray.
B had way too much fun with coffee filter art. She was less interested in making colors on the coffee filters and more interested in dropping every bit of water from her ice tray onto her plate. I think she was very happy to have mastered the squeezing and did not want to stop. At one point, “A” and little C went to play in the yard and B stayed inside so she could finish transferring her water. Here is her poor coffee filter drowning on her plate.
