How to make apple and cinnamon muffins
For this recipe, I used my basic muffin recipe and made a few tweaks to account for the addition of the apples and some other spices.
Pour the flour, baking powder, salt and a dash of cinnamon into a medium bowl and stir to combine.
Measuring and mixing have always been some of my kids' favorite kitchen activities. So I gave my daughter a whisk and let her mix the egg, sugar, brown sugar and milk in a large bowl.
Next, stir in the cooled, melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix to combine.
I peeled and chopped some apples into small pieces and we added them to our batter. Peeling and chopping is an adults only job in our house.
Once we mixed up the batter for this Apple Muffins Recipe, we scooped it into a 12 cup muffin pan. You can use cupcake liner muffin cups if you want or just grease a muffin tin.
You'll need to let these muffins cool a bit on a wire rack before eating, but they are amazing when served still a bit warm.
These muffins make great snacks for lunch boxes! The cinnamon apple flavor in the muffins can't be beat.
