Ingredients

  • 5 cups apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ teaspoon flour
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg

For crumble

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Peel, core and slice 5 apples.
  • Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch baking dish or a square baking dish.
  • Combine the white sugar, ½ teaspoon of flour, cinnamon and nutmeg
    and sprinkle over apples. Stir together so that the sugar mixture is evenly distributed.
  • To make the crumble topping, combine the oats with ½ cup flour,
    brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together.
  • Use a fork to mix these ingredients together until they form a crumble.
  • Cover the apples with the crumble mixture.
  • Bake the apple crisp at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
  • Optional - serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
