Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Peel, core and slice 5 apples.
Place the sliced apples in a 9x13 inch baking dish or a square baking dish.
Combine the white sugar, ½ teaspoon of flour, cinnamon and nutmeg
and sprinkle over apples. Stir together so that the sugar mixture is evenly distributed.
To make the crumble topping, combine the oats with ½ cup flour,
brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda and melted butter together.
Use a fork to mix these ingredients together until they form a crumble.
Cover the apples with the crumble mixture.
Bake the apple crisp at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes.
Optional - serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
