Materials

  • 2 Mason Jars any size
  • Blue Felt
  • Rick Rack Trim
  • Blue Pipe Cleaner
  • 2 White Pom Poms
  • 7 Buttons any colors
  • 1-2 Cotton Balls
  • Black Construction Paper
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions

  • Glue 3 buttons on each mason jar with the hot glue gun. You can use whatever color buttons you have on hand or happen to like. They don't all need to be the same color.
  • Cut the red rick rack trim and blue felt to go around the jar lids. Make sure to make these longer that the circumference of the jar lid so that the scarf can hang down. Using the glue gun, glue the trim and felt onto the sides of the lids.
  • Cut out 1 large circle to fit on one of the lids, a rectangle to create the body of the hat, and a smaller circle for the top of the hat out of the black construction paper.
  • Glue the larger circle to the lid of one of the mason jars. Roll the rectangle into a cylinder and glue it together, then glue the cylinder to the smaller circle. Finally, glue the smaller circle on the top of the lid of the mason jar to make the snowman's hat.
  • Remove a little cotton from a cotton ball and glue it onto the hat in a few places to represent snow. Add a button to the front of the hat for decoration. On the other lid, glue a pipe cleaner to each side, then glue on the 2 white pom poms to make snowman earmuffs.
  • Then it's time to fill the jars with those yummy white chocolate covered pretzels.
  • Twist on the lids, and your snowmen treats are ready to go!

Notes

  • Since making these jars involves a hot glue gun, I would only make these with older children, and even then, use careful supervision as a glue gun can cause burns.
  • You can use bigger jars to fit larger items.
