Cook macaroni according to package directions. Next, cook ground beef, onion and garlic in a large and deep skillet over medium heat until beef has browned.

Add tomato paste, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, diced green chilies, cumin, chili powder, and salt and pepper to the skillet.

Now it’s time to add the cooked pasta and one cup of shredded cheese to the skillet and stir to distribute evenly.

Place the mixture in a greased 2.5 to 3 quart casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes at 375 degrees.

Remove the casserole from the oven and top it with the remaining 1 cup of cheese. Then place the casserole back in the oven for 5 to 7 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
