Allow the maraschino cherries to dry on a paper towel after draining. Slice the maraschino cherries in halves. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add sweetened condensed milk to the creamed mixture and blend until creamy.

Mix in the baking powder, baking soda, and a pinch of salt until well combined. Blend in the flour until it is completely mixed.

Add chocolate chips and chopped cherries.

Next, add the cocoa powder. Mix for 30 seconds on medium speed until the cocoa powder is incorporated.

Use a cookie scoop to form 1-inch balls of dough, and drop them 2” apart on the cookie sheet. Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minutes.

To make the glaze, melt the chocolate chips. Add the milk and stir over low heat.

Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and whisk until smooth.

Drizzle the cookies with the chocolate glaze when they are completely cool.

Let the glaze harden for 15 minutes before serving.
