  • Peel and core the apples, then cut them into bite-sized pieces.
  • Place the apple pieces in a slow cooker, adding sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, and vanilla. Stir well to combine.
  • Cook on high for 7 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • After 7 hours, blend the apples in a blender until smooth.
  • Return the apple butter to the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional hour. You can enjoy the apple butter immediately or transfer it to sterilized jars for later storage.
