Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Combine the chocolate cake mix, thawed Cool Whip, and one egg in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well all the ingredients have combined.
  • To make the chocolate cake mix cookie dough easier to handle, place it in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the dough from the freezer. Scoop rounded spoonfuls into a plate of confectioners' sugar and roll them until fully coated.
  • Place the cookie dough onto the cookie sheet, leaving space between each one.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. The cookies will have a soft center, but they will continue to cook in the pan even after being removed from the oven.
  • Take the cookies out of the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Then, use a spatula to transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Make sure to thaw the Cool Whip before using it. This helps it mix smoothly into the batter.
  • Feel free to switch things up by using different cake mix flavors. Vanilla, strawberry, or funfetti would all be delicious options.
