In a large bowl, measure out 8 cups of Chex and set aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips, peanut butter, butter, and vanilla. Microwave in 30-second intervals until the mixture is melted, stirring until smooth.
Pour the melted peanut butter assortmentover the cereal and stir until it is evenly coated.
In two Ziploc bags, divide ¾ cup of powdered sugar into each bag, then add the coated cereal.
Shake the bags to coat the cereal with the powdered sugar.
Spread the mixture onto a cookie sheet to allow it to set.
After the puppy chow has set, return it to the bowl and add M&Ms and candy. Toss to evenly distribute the candy and serve.
