Ingredients
  

  • 29 oz Oreo Cookies 1 ⅔ cup finely crushed into crumbs for base, remaining 2 ½ cups coarsely chopped for topping dessert
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 3 tablespoon Butter melted
  • 8 oz Cream cheese softened
  • ¾ cup Sugar
  • 8 oz Whipped topping thawed

Instructions
 

  • Crush the Oreo cookies. You will need 1 ⅔ cup finely crushed into crumbs for the base, and 2 ½ cups coarsely chopped to top dessert.
  • Place the butter in a small bowl and microwave for approximately 30 seconds until melted.
  • Incorporate 1 tablespoon of sugar and finely crushed cookie crumbs into the butter, then firmly press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • In a medium bowl, blend the cream cheese and ¾ cup sugar until smooth.
  • Gently incorporate the whipped topping.
  • Pour this mixture over the cookie layer in the pan, spreading evenly.
  • Sprinkle the chopped Oreo cookie crumbs over the top of the dessert.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Use a food processor to make cookie crumbs. You can also use a sealed zip-top bag and rolling pin.
  • When mixing the cream cheese and sugar, make sure it is smooth and lump-free.
