These 4th of July Rice Krispie Treats are a fun and easy dessert you can make for friends and family. They would be perfect for a 4th of July picnic or barbecue. Add a little flair to a classic recipe and give it a patriotic twist!
Melt the butter in a large saucepan or large pot on low heat.
When the butter has melted, add in the marshmallows.
Stir the marshmallows into the butter until they have melted and combined with the butter.
Turn off the stove and add the Rice Krispies to the saucepan. Mix until all the Rice Krispies are coated with the melted marshmallow mixture.
Gently fold most the red, white and blue M&M’s into the Rice Krispie mix. Save some for the top.
Press the mixture into a 13x9 pan or baking dish the so it forms an even layer.
Press some M&Ms into the top of the Rice Krispies in the pan.
Let the rice crispy treats stand for 15 to 30 minutes before eating.
Slice into squares and enjoy!
