Ingredients

  • 16 oz refrigerated, prepared cookie dough (safe to eat raw)
  • 3.5 oz chocolate bar (melted)

Instructions

  • Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Scoop out dough and form into balls. You should get around 24 balls (1 ¼ - 1 ½ inch each).
  • Place the cookie dough balls on the baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate cookie dough balls for 20 minutes or until they have firmed up.
  • Break the chocolate bar into smaller pieces, place in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave on high for 60 seconds. Then stir and return to microwave for 10-second increments until the chocolate has melted.
  • Using a fork, roll and dip cookie balls into the melted chocolate and shake off any excess chocolate. Place the chocolate-covered balls on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Refrigerate for 20 minutes until the chocolate has set.
  • If you wish, you can add a drizzle of melted chocolate to the top. You'll have to re-melt the chocolate to do this. If you do this, pop the truffles back into the refrigerator for another 15 minutes so the candy coating drizzle can harden.

Notes

  • You can use an equal amount of dark chocolate or chocolate chips in place of the chocolate bar.
  • Semisweet chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips work well for the chocolate coating as well.
