This may not come as a surprise to you, but as I kid, I ate raw cookie dough from the bowl all the time. Even before cookie dough was cool. Now, this was before we knew how cookie dough made with raw eggs really shouldn't be eaten.  These days it is easy to find premade edible cookie dough. I'm going to show you how to make these heavenly Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles using edible cookie dough and chocolate.

    ⭐Why This Recipe Works

    • Truffles are a rich treat, and chocolate chip cookie dough is a classic flavor. Combining the two creates a delicious dessert.
    • Truffles are bite-sized treats that are great for portion control.
    • Only two ingredients and so easy to make!

    🥣Ingredient Notes

    • Refrigerated cookie dough - make sure this is edible raw and does not need to be cooked.
    • Milk chocolate bars - I used bars with almonds because I like the nutty flavor, but plain milk chocolate would be great as well.

    📋Step by Step Instructions

STEP 1: Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Scoop out dough and form into balls. You should get around 24 balls (1 ¼ - 1 ½ inch each).

STEP 2: Place the cookie dough balls on the baking sheet.

STEP 3: Refrigerate cookie dough balls for 20 minutes or until they have firmed up.

STEP 4: Break the chocolate bar into smaller pieces, place in a microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave on high for 60 seconds. Then stir and return to microwave for 10-second increments until the chocolate has melted.

STEP 5: Using a fork, roll and dip cookie balls into the melted chocolate and shake off any excess chocolate. Place the chocolate-covered balls on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

STEP 6: Refrigerate for 20 minutes until the chocolate has set.

STEP 7: If you wish, you can add a drizzle of melted chocolate to the top. You'll have to re-melt the chocolate to do this. If you do this, pop the truffles back into the refrigerator for another 15 minutes so the candy coating drizzle can harden.

Store the chocolate chip cookie dough truffles in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them.

The cookie dough just melts in your mouth. No one will believe how easy these were to make thanks to edible cookie dough. They will be begging you for your chocolate chip cookie dough recipe.

    👩🏻‍🍳Expert Tips

Tip 1: You can use an equal amount of dark chocolate or chocolate chips in place of the chocolate bar.

Tip 2: Semisweet chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips work well for the chocolate coating as well.

    🤷🏻‍♀️Recipe FAQs

How do you store cookie dough truffles?

Store the chocolate chip cookie dough truffles in the refrigerator in an airtight container until you are ready to serve them.
