This may not come as a surprise to you, but as I kid, I ate raw cookie dough from the bowl all the time. Even before cookie dough was cool. Now, this was before we knew how cookie dough made with eggs really shouldn't be eaten raw. These days it is easy to find premade edible cookie dough. I'm going to show you how to make these heavenly Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles using edible cookie dough and chocolate.
- Edible cookie dough (this is my favorite brand)
- Milk chocolate bars (I used bars with almonds because I like the nutty flavor, but plain milk chocolate would be great as well.)
I made 12 truffles with ⅓ jar of cookie and one large bar of chocolate.
Simply scoop out some chocolate chip cookie dough and roll it into 1 ½ -2 inch balls.
Break the chocolate bar into smaller pieces and melt in microwave.
Roll the dough balls into the melted chocolate and place on a a parchment lined baking sheet. Refrigerate for 20 minutes until the chocolate has set.
At this point, you can add a drizzle of chocolate to the top. If you do this, pop the truffles back into the refrigerator for another 15 minutes so the drizzle can harden.
Store the chocolate chip cookie dough truffles in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve them.
The cookie dough just melts in your mouth. No one will believe how easy these were to make thanks to edible cookie dough. They will be begging you for your chocolate chip cookie dough recipe. When you are done making these, you will have enough cookie dough left over for a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Finally, you don't have to worry about sneaking a taste of the dough.
