Kitchen Tools for Chocolate Oreo Cupcake Recipe
You'll need a muffin pan with cupcake liners for easy clean-up, a large bowl for mixing the batter, and a whisk or electric mixer. For the frosting, I use a stand mixer, but a hand mixer and bowl work too. A piping bag with a star tip makes the frosting look nice, but a plastic sandwich bag with a snipped corner works just as well.

How to Make Homemade Oreo Cupcakes
- Prep the oven and muffin pan - Preheat your oven to 350°F and pop some paper liners into your muffin tin. These make clean up a breeze!
- Mix the dry ingredients - Grab a big bowl and toss in the flour, cocoa powders, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk everything together.
- Sweeten it up - Stir in the brown and white sugar.
- Add the wet ingredients - Pour in the oil, buttermilk, egg, vanilla, and cream soda (or ale). Mix just until it comes together, but be sure not to overdo it!
- Boost the chocolate - Dissolve some instant coffee in a little boiling water and stir it into the batter. Trust me, it’s not for a coffee flavor, it just boosts the chocolate flavor. You will also be adding some yummy crushed oreos to the batter.

- Fill and bake - Scoop the batter into the liners and bake. A mostly clean toothpick means these are ready!
- Cool and chill - Let those cupcakes cool on a wire rack completely before frosting them.
- Crush the Oreos - This is a great way to get kids involved in the kitchen. Just place the Oreos in a zip-top bag and have kids crush them. They can use their hands or a rolling pin. Just rolling over the cookies in the bag will crush them.

- Cream the butter - Beat the butter in your mixer until it’s totally smooth.
- Add the powdered sugar - Slowly mix it in, one cup at a time, until it’s all blended.
- Pour in the cream and vanilla - Turn up the mixer to medium-high and whip until it’s light and fluffy.
- Add the Oreo crumbs - Mix on low just enough to combine. You don’t want to overdo it!

- Frost and top - Grab a piping bag and swirl the frosting onto your cupcakes. Finish with a mini Oreo on top for a fun touch.

Aren't Oreo's the best!! I really love the frosting made with crushed Oreo's! When you mention Vanilla Cream Ale, do you mean a cream soda?

Just something I noticed: you are missing the egg from your recipe card ingredient list. I first thought these are eggless cupcakes but then the instructions do mention eggs.
