Materials

  • 1 6 inch Terra cotta pot
  • Acrylic paint various colors
  • 1 Tray
  • Waterproof sealer optional

Instructions

  • Place the flower pot on a reusable plastic tray to contain the mess. Turn the pot upside down, flip the top on the paint, hold the bottle over the pot, and start squeezing.
  • Squeeze paint on the top and on the sides of the pot and watch as it drips down the pot.
  • Do this with a variety of colors until most of the pot is covered in paint.
  • Move the pot to a different location on the tray so it doesn't dry with all the paint hanging off the bottom. Simply place your finger in the hole in the pot and move it. Allow the paint to dry completely.
  • Apply a sealer if you will be keeping the pot outside. Let dry.

Notes

Supervise children while they are doing this craft.
  • You may want to have your kids wear a smock for this activity as it can get messy. We just rolled up our sleeves and were fine.
  • Let kids pick out various colors of acrylic paint to use on their pot.
