- 15.6 oz Premade frosting - white not whipped, 3 containers
- Food coloring 3 colors of your choice
- 5 ¼ - 5 ½ C Powdered sugar
- Medium bowl
- Spatula
- ½ C Measuring cup
- ¼ C Measuring cup
- Hand mixer
- Ice cream scoop
- Cups
- Sprinkles
- Cones
Add 1 cup (about ½ a premade tube) of frosting to a large bowl. Add food coloring to the frosting until you get your desired color.
Add ½ cup of powdered sugar to the frosting. Use a hand mixer to mix the frosting and powdered sugar throughly.
Add another ½ cup of powdered sugar at a time until you have added 1 ½ total cups.
Finally, add the remaining ¼ cup of powdered sugar and mix the dough by hand.
If the dough is sticky add a sprinkle of powdered sugar and knead. Continue to add a small amount of powdered sugar until the dough is no longer sticky.
Repeat these steps until all the colors are made.
Add ice cream cones (real and toy ones), ice cream scoops, sprinkles, cups and spoons so kids can play.
- Store edible ice cream playdough in a container with a tight-fitting lid or a plastic zip bag. Keep the play dough in the refrigerator.
- Keep a close eye on children as they engage in playdough activities, particularly if they have a tendency to put things in their mouths.
