Materials

  • Fall-colored paint red, orange, yellow, brown
  • Q-Tips
  • White and brown construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

  • Cut a tree trunk and branches from brown paper and glue onto the white background.
  • Pour paint into small containers or a muffin tin.
  • Use Q-Tips to dot fall leaves all around the tree branches in different colors.
  • Let it dry, and admire your beautiful autumn masterpiece!

Notes

  • Grab some newspaper, an old sheet, or a plastic tablecloth. This craft is super fun but definitely a little messy. A quick setup now saves you from scrubbing paint off the table later!
  •
Use a muffin tin for the paint. Those little wells are perfect for keeping fall paint colors separate and easy to reach. Plus, kids love feeling like “real” artists dipping into their palette!
  • Cut out the tree trunks ahead of time so little ones can dive right into dotting those colorful leaves.
This activity involves paint, scissors, and small items like Q-Tips, so be sure to supervise your kiddos while they craft. Always use age-appropriate supplies and never leave young children unattended during art projects.
