  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, white sugar, and brown sugar, and cream them together using a mixer until smooth.
  • Add the egg and vanilla and mix together.
  • Next, add the salt, baking soda, and flour, mixing by hand until the dough forms. Fold in the white chocolate chips.
  • Grease a cookie sheet or line it with parchment paper. Drop the dough by rounded teaspoons onto the cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes.

Notes

  • To prevent the cookies from sticking and to make cleanup easier, use parchment paper.
  • When mixing the dough, avoid overmixing once you add the flour; mix just until combined to keep the cookies soft.
  • If you’re baking with kids, assign them fun tasks such as measuring ingredients, mixing, or placing dough onto the baking sheet. These little jobs will make them feel involved and excited to help.
  • If you want thicker cookies, refrigerate the dough for 15 to 20 minutes before baking. This will help prevent the cookies from spreading too much.
