This homemade marinara sauce recipe has been sponsored by PEPCID®, but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
My mom and both sets of grandparents came to America from Italy. So Italian food (and a love of that food!) is in my blood. I do confess, when I am pressed for time, I will used jarred marinara sauce (don’t tell grandma!). But my preference is to make my own. This is one of my favorite marinara sauce recipes. It is simple to prepare and the kitchen will smell amazing while it is simmering. As much as I love marinara sauce, it can sometimes do a number on me, causing heartburn. But PEPCID® COMPLETE® quickly relieves heartburn and acid indigestion so I can enjoy my favorite foods, like this marinara sauce.

This marinara sauce recipe is easy to prepare and oh-so-yummy! It fills up a normal sized jar of pasta sauce and can be refrigerated and stored as you would an open jar of store bought pasta sauce.

I’d say this marinara sauce recipe is practically perfect with the only caveat being that it might not be your best friend if you suffer from heartburn. But as I mentioned before, help is here! PEPCID® COMPLETE® helps you to enjoy all sorts of foods while providing fast, long-lasting relief in just one chew-able tablet that can be taken at the first signs of heartburn and acid indigestion.

But how does it taste? Good question! The good folks at PEPCID® sent me PEPCID® COMPLETE® and a scorecard to rate the taste and you can see the results for yourself. PEPCID® COMPLETE® comes in Berry and Mint flavors. I have been using the Berry flavor and its “berry” good. Sorry, I couldn’t resist! When compared to heartburn medicine I have taken in the past, PEPCID® COMPLETE® leaves no aftertaste and dissolves easily. I have found other antacids to be very chalky and that wasn’t the case here.

When stomach acid escapes into the esophagus, heartburn is the result. Heartburn is often triggered by certain foods. The following foods have a bad reputation when it comes to heartburn: tomatoes, fried and fatty foods, chocolate, garlic,
raw onions, mints, vinegar, citrus fruits or juices, spicy foods, ketchup and
mustard, and coffee. Do you suffer from heartburn and acid indigestion? Visit PEPCID® for more information and check them out on Facebook.

I have received information, product, and materials from McNeil
Consumer Pharmaceuticals Co., the makers of PEPCID®. The opinions stated
are my own. This is a sponsored post for Mom It Forward.

I am definitely not telling your Grandma the little secret you’ve shared. I love using sauce in most of my dishes and this one looks just perfect for the past I am planning to cook. Good stuff!

Once I learned how easy it was to make a homemade marinara sauce, I stopped buying the jars. Oh, I keep one or two in the pantry, just in case, but really homemade is so much better! I can’t wait to try your recipe!
