How To Make Apple Cider Ice Cream Float

    1. Scoop the Ice Cream: First, I put a big scoop of vanilla ice cream into a glass.

A glass mug with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, next to creamy vanilla ice cream, apple cider, and a cinnamon stick

    2. Pour the Cider: Then, I slowly pour the apple cider over the ice cream. It will fizz up a bit, which is the fun part.

A glass mug with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and apple cider creates a tempting float, with an ice cream tub and yellow scoop in the background.

    3. Add the Toppings: To finish, I add a swirl of whipped topping and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. If I'm feeling fancy, I'll add a cinnamon stick or two.

Tips For Making an Apple Cider Float

Tip 1: Be sure to use cold apple cider. It helps keep the ice cream from melting too fast.

Tip 2: Pour the cider over the ice cream slowly. If you pour it too fast, it can fizz over the top of the glass and make a mess.

Tip 3: Experiment with different ice cream flavors. Salted caramel or even cinnamon ice cream are really good in this.

Tip 4: Serve this right away. Floats are best when they're fresh and fizzy.

    FAQs For This Apple Drink

Can I use apple juice instead of apple cider?

You can, but it won't have the same flavor. Apple cider has a richer taste with more spice that works better for this recipe.

    How do I store leftovers?

This drink is best served immediately and doesn't store well. The ice cream will melt and the fizziness will go away.

Can I make a big batch of this for a party?

Since this tastes best when just made, I don't recommend it. You could do is set up a "float bar" with all the ingredients and have guests make their own.

    Float Recipes

Float recipes are a great way to enjoy a sweet and refreshing treat. Orange Floats make a great citrusy snack, while Strawberry Vanilla Ice Cream Floats are the perfect fruity and creamy combination. For a festive option, the Egg Nog Float Recipe is perfect, while the Strawberry Ice Cream Float offers a classic favorite.

I hope you and your family enjoy this Apple Cider Float as much as we do. It's a simple way to make a day feel a little more special.

    Ingredients

    • 1 ⅓ cup apple cider
    • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
    • ⅓ teaspoon cinnamon
    • 3 tablespoon whipped topping
    • cinnamon sticks for decor optional

    Instructions

    • Place one scoop vanilla ice cream into the glass.
    • Pour in apple cider.
    • Top with whipped topping and sprinkle of cinnamon. Serve cold and right away!

    Notes

    • Use cold apple cider. It keeps the ice cream from melting too fast.
    • Pour the cider over the ice cream slow, or it might fizz up and run over the top. Trust me, I’ve made that mistake.
    • Try different ice cream flavors if you want.
    • Serve right away. These are definitely best when they’re fresh and fizzy.
