It is another exciting day here at Mess for Less! Last week, I announced that my new book Today is Great – A Daily Gratitude Journal for Kids would be published on October 1st. Well today I am announcing that my second book,  Grateful Together A Gratitude Journal for Kids and their Parents is coming out on October 15th! I have to pinch myself because I can’t believe that in one month’s time I’ll be the author of two books.

Grateful Together - A Gratitude Journal for Kids and their Parents. A shared pass back and forth journal for kids and their parents or caregivers. This is a great book for kids and parents to get to know each other better.

The topic of Grateful Together is similar to Today is Great, but also different in an important way. It’s similar in that it also is meant to encourage kids to be a little more grateful and creative. The big difference, is that Grateful Together is a shared journal that is meant to be passed back and forth between a child and a parent or caregiver. Instead of focusing daily on one thing that they’re grateful for, this book asks kids (and parents) a series of interesting and fun questions.

Grateful Together helps keep parents and kids connected about big and little things related to gratitude. You and your child can get to know each other better as you answer the same questions and share the responses with each other. This is such a wonderful way to nurture your relationship with your child!

I know that it isn’t always easy for kids and parents to talk. Many days, my kids come home from school and I ask them how their day was, only to be met with a shrug or a “fine”. I wanted to delve a little deeper and know more about what was going on in their heads. What gave them joy? What memories were precious to them? The kind of stuff that if I simply asked them, would be met with a shrug or a “fine”. That was my inspiration in writing grateful together.

HOW TO USE GRATEFUL TOGETHER

I want to help parents and caregivers connect with their kids in meaningful ways about big and little things. You and your child take turns filling out questions and lists of what you’re thankful for. There are also free spaces for you and your child to get creative and write or draw.

WHY GRATEFUL TOGETHER

Grateful Together will help you and your child build gratitude by getting into  positive communication habits that can last a lifetime. There are a wide range of unique activities and prompts so you will never get bored. Grow your gratitude and relationship – together.

Grateful Together is officially on sale on October 15th, but you can pre-order it now on Amazon.

MAKES A GREAT GIFT

Grateful Together makes a great gift, either for a birthday or Christmas. It’s not too early to start thinking about the holidays. This would be a perfect stocking stuffer. Gift this book with some colorful pens or pencils and start a lifelong habit of gratitude. Is there any better gift than that?
