- Pork Shoulder Roast (I used a 3 1/2 pound roast)
- Sweet potato
- 1/2 white onion cut into large chunks
- Slow cooker seasoning
- 1/2 cup of water
Season the pork shoulder roast prior to placing it in the slow cooker. In the spice aisle they have slow cooker seasoning packets. I mixed half a packet with 1/2 cup of water and poured it into the slow cooker. I used the rest of the seasoning packet to rub on the roast. If you don’t have a slow cooker seasoning packet, you can used your own spices to season the water and on the roast.
Add seasoned water and roast to the slow cooker.
Peel a sweet potato and a yam and cut into large chunks. Place in the slow cooker with the roast.
Cut 1/2 large white onion into chunks and add to the slow cooker as well.
Cook on low setting for 8 hours and you will come back to this.
The sweet potato and yam really add a nice sweet flavor to this dish. The pork was so juicy and tender from being cooked in the slow cooker. Best of all, you didn’t spend all day in the kitchen.
