You only need 5 ingredients to make this Crock Pot Mississippi Pot Roast. This is the best roast you will ever make, in my opinion. It is so tasty and tender, and the fact that it takes just 5 minutes to prep it and get it into the slow cooker makes it a great recipe for busy days.

    What is Mississippi Pot Roast?

This is one of my favorite roasts to make since the whole family loves it and it is super easy. How easy? Try 5 ingredients in the crock pot easy.

Mississippi pot roast is a tender and buttery roast made with a pot roast or chuck roast. You add it to a crock pot along with butter, ranch and au jus seasoning packets and some pepperoncini. The result is a zesty, fall apart roast with a bit of a zing.

    Frequently asked questions

What are some good Mississippi Pot Roast sides?

You can serve it over mashed potatoes as I did or change things up a bit. Roasted potatoes, rice, egg noodles, or roasted veggies are also good sides.

What kind of meat should you use in a Mississippi pot roast?

Any chuck roast or pot roast will work.

Can I cook Mississippi beef roast for 4 hours on high in the slow cooker or does it need to be 8 hours on low?

You can cook it on higher heat for a shorter amount of time, but it may not be as tender as it would be when cooked longer. If you have the time, opt for the 8 hour cook time.
