Crock Pot Peach Dump Cake
The flavors of a slow-cooker peach dump cake combine sweetness and warmth, making this one of those easy desserts that is a comfort food favorite. You'll love the sweet, tangy peach taste blended with the buttery texture of the cake topping. This is a great dessert for a chilly evening or a hot summer day when you don't want to use the oven.
Using the crock pot not only makes the cooking process easy but also lets the recipe's flavors mingle and intensify. The cake gets infused with juicy peaches, while the edges become golden and crisp. This combination of soft, moist cake and peachy sweetness makes this peach dumpcake amazing.
Recipes Made With Cake Mix
I love cooking with cake mix because you can make so much more with it than simple cakes. It is a versatile ingredient that is perfect if you like to experiment a little bit in the kitchen. Obviously, you can make dump cakes with cake mix, but you can also make cookies, bars, and sweet bread.
Starting with cake mix allows you to play around with flavors, fillings, and toppings. Here are some of my favorite recipes that we have made with cake mix:
- Lemon Cake Mix Cookies
- Confetti Cookies with Cake Mix
- Easy Cake Mix Butter Pecan Cookies
- Pumpkin Cookies with Spice Cake Mix
Ingredients For Crockpot Dump Cake
- Peach pie filling—This is what gives the cake its wonderful peach flavor. You will use two cans of pie filling, each 21 ounces.
- Yellow cake mix - The dry cake mix will be added to the melted butter to form a crumbly topping that will absorb the juiciness of peaches and blend with the other ingredients for a perfectly moist and tender cake. We used yellow cake mix, though you can use white cake mix as well.
- Butter - This helps the cake mix to turn golden and crisp.
How to Make Crockpot Peach Dumpcake
Making peach dumpcake in the crockpot is a breeze. The hardest part is opening the cans of peaches! Begin by placing the peaches in the bottom of the crockpot. Then, combine the melted butter and yellow cake mix in a large bowl and mix until crumbly.
Sprinkle this cake mixture evenly on top, covering all the peaches. The key is in the layering - no stirring required! Cover this yummy concoction and set it to cook for 2 hours. The warmth from the crock pot will transform these simple ingredients into a delicious dessert.
Tips For Making Peach Dumpcake
Tip 1: A scoop of vanilla ice cream or some whipped cream takes this dessert over the top, making each bite a perfect blend of warm cake and cool, creamy goodness.
Tip 2: Sprinkle cinnamon and nutmeg over the cake mix before cooking to give it a warm, spicy aroma that complements the peaches beautifully.
Tip 3: If you want the top cake layer to brown a bit more and be a little crisper, prop open the lid to the crock pot with a wooden spoon for the last 15-20 minutes of cooking. This allows some of the moisture in the slow cooker to escape.
How Do You Store Slow Cooker Dumpcake?
This recipe makes a big batch of peach cake, so you'll probably have leftovers. To ensure that your leftover dump cake stays as fresh and tasty as when you made it, you'll want to store it properly. Place any leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days.
When you're ready to enjoy it again, you can warm it in a microwave for a quick treat. This cake also tastes amazing cold, straight from the fridge. Don't ask me how I know that.
Can I Use Fresh Peaches Instead Of Canned?
Absolutely! Fresh, ripe peaches can make your cake even better, especially if they are in season. You will need to add some sugar to the recipe to compensate for the sweetness in the peach pie filling.
You can use 6 cups of fresh peeled and sliced peaches (I like ripe ones for the best flavor). Add them to a bowl and coat with ¼ cup of sugar. Then add the sugared peaches to the crockpot and top with the cake mix and butter mixture.

The beauty in this easy dessert recipe lies in its simplicity and minimal need for kitchen tools. Anything that involves less to clean up is always a winner in my book! The basic tools you need are a crockpot, a can opener, and a bowl.
For serving, I like to use a large serving spoon, and of course, I need some storage containers for leftovers. Luckily, if you don't have any of the needed tools, you can order them on Amazon and have them conveniently arrive without ever leaving the house!
