How to Make Strawberry Acorns With Chocolate

    1. Melt the chocolate slowly: I microwaved the chocolate candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. I used the defrost setting so it wouldn't burn.
    2. Prep the strawberries: Cut the tops off your strawberries and dry them well with a paper towel.
    3. Dip and set: Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate and place it on parchment paper to firm up.

Heart-shaped treats coated in chocolate, topped with colorful sprinkles, these chocolate strawberries rest on parchment paper for a sweet finishing touch.
    1. Add the tops: Reheat the chocolate so it's smooth again. Then, dip just the top part of each strawberry and immediately sprinkle on the fall sprinkles.
    2. Attach the pretzel: Break each pretzel stick in half and push it into the top of the chocolate-covered end of the strawberry.

Tips for Chocolate Covered Strawberry Acorns

Tip 1: Dry the strawberries really well or the chocolate won't stick properly.
Tip 2: Use the microwave's defrost mode to melt chocolate evenly without burning it.
Tip 3: If your pretzels crack, try trimming one end with a knife before pushing it in.

FAQs for Chocolate Strawberry Acorn Treats

How do I store Chocolate Covered Strawberry Acorns?

Store in the fridge in a single layer. They're best eaten within 24 hours because strawberries can start to release moisture.

Can I use white or dark chocolate instead?

Yes! White chocolate and dark chocolate are a good substitute for milk chocolate.

What kind of sprinkles should I use?

Any fall-themed sprinkles work. I used a mix of orange, yellow, and brown ones for a classic autumn look.

    Ingredients

    • 10 oz Ghirardelli's milk chocolate melting wafers
    • 3 tablespoons fall sprinkles
    • 7 pretzel sticks
    • 7 strawberries

    Instructions

    • Melt chocolate for two minutes on defrost mode. Stir. Melt for another minute on defrost mode and stir till melted.
    • Wash and remove tops of strawberries. Dry strawberries with kitchen towel. Dip in chocolate. Place on parchment paper. Let dry.
    • Reheat chocolate for one minute on defrost mode. Dip tops of strawberries into the chocolate then drizzle fall sprinkles on top.
    • Carefully add pretzel to the top by breaking on in half and slowly screwing with pressure into the top of the strawberry/chocolate.
    • Strawberries are ready to serve.

    Notes

    • Make sure your strawberries are completely dry before dipping. If there's any moisture, the chocolate won't stick well and might slide right off.
    • Use the defrost setting on your microwave when melting chocolate. It melts more gently and helps prevent burning or seizing.
    • If your pretzel stick cracks when you try to push it in, trim the end flat with a knife first. It'll go in a lot easier with less pressure.
Nutrition Note: These estimates are based on typical brands and portions. Your numbers may vary depending on the chocolate and strawberries you use.
