What makes this easy crock pot chicken recipe even more impressive is that the soup and gravy keeps the chicken moist while not overwhelming the chicken with gravy.
How To Make This Crockpot Dinner
1. In a large bowl combine the cream of chicken soup and one envelope of chicken gravy mix. The packet of chicken gravy I used was 1.67 oz. If you are using a smaller size packet, consider using two to get close to that amount.

2. Place the boneless skinless chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Pour the mixture over the defrosted or fresh chicken breasts.
3. I get my chicken from ButcherBox, which delivers the healthiest, highest quality meat while causing as little harm as they can to the environment.

4. Cook in a slow cooker for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.

5. When the chicken is cooked, shred the chicken breasts. I love using these shredding claws as a quick and easy way to shred chicken.

You can serve this with your choice of sides. Leftovers are good for a few days and make a great quick lunch. Now you can see why this is one of my favorite slow cooker recipes.

Tips for Crockpot Gravy Chicken Success
Tip 1: Frozen chicken can release extra liquid and water down the gravy. For best texture and flavor, start with fresh or fully thawed chicken breasts.
Tip 2: Once the chicken is cooked, use two forks to shred it directly in the slow cooker. This helps the meat soak up every bit of that savory gravy. No need to dirty another bowl!
Tip 3: Want extra gravy to pour over mashed potatoes or rice? You can stir in an additional half packet of gravy mix and a splash of water or broth at the end to stretch the sauce without losing flavor.

FAQs for Crockpot Shredded Chicken and Gravy
I do not like to put frozen meat in a slow cooker since it takes too long for it warm up and therefore it will sit at unsafe temperatures for longer than I am comfortable with.
Add ½ cup of water to the soup and gravy mix. Combine and pour over the chicken. This chicken in a crock pot recipe is very versatile.
Rice makes a great side. You can also serve this over mashed potatoes. This slow cooker chicken chicken is also delicious on a split warm biscuit.

Crockpot Gravy Chicken
Equipment
Video
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts boneless and skinless
- 1 can cream of chicken soup 10.5 oz
- 1 packet chicken gravy 1.67 oz
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine can of cream of chicken soup and one envelope of chicken gravy mix.
- Add the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Pour the mixture over the defrosted or fresh chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- Cook in a slow cooker for 4 hours on high or 8 hours on low.
- When the chicken is cooked, shred the chicken breasts and combine with the gravy.
Notes
- Use thawed chicken - Frozen works in a pinch, but it can make the gravy watery. Thawed = better flavor and texture.
- Shred it right in the crockpot - Two forks, no extra dishes. The chicken soaks up all that gravy goodness.
- Want more gravy? - Add a little extra mix + water or broth at the end for extra saucy vibes.
