Tips for Pipe Cleaner Colander Play

Tip 1: Have extra pipe cleaners around. My kids always wanted more once they get started.

Tip 2: If you have more than one child, find extra colanders or take turns if you can. It saves a lot of sibling drama.

Tip 3: Younger toddlers might just like playing with the pipe cleaners themselves. That’s fine!

FAQs For Pipe Cleaner and Colander Activity

    Can toddlers do this activity?

Yes, but kids under 2 might need some help poking the pipe cleaners through. Watch out for them putting pipe cleaners in their mouth.

My colander has bigger holes. Will it still work?

Yes! It might just be easier for kids, and they can double up or twist pipe cleaners to make bigger creations.

What if I don’t have pipe cleaners?

Try using uncooked spaghetti or straws as an alternative. They are not as bendy, but still fun.

    fine motor skills activities

This easy pipe cleaner and colander activity is great for strengthening hands and keeping kids busy. It is an easy, mess-free activity that takes hardly any time to set up. That is my kind of activity!
