How to Make Sticky Foam Pumpkins
1. Cut out Halloween shapes from foam (ghosts, pumpkins, monsters - whatever you like!)
I cut out some green monsters, a moon, a haunted house, and a gate for our pumpkins to sit on. I bet some of you, really artistic types, can make some great stuff out of the foam.
2. Decorate with googly eyes and glue if you want to get fancy.

3. Fill a small cup with water and give kids a paintbrush.

4. Let them brush the backs of the foam pieces with water and stick them to a window.

5. Watch the magic happen - foam sticks like a decal but peels off easily!

We had a teachable moment when I asked my daughter to put one pumpkin on the top of the gate and one on the bottom of the gate. It was a great opportunity to review the top and bottom.

Don't Forget this Fun Halloween Song!
We sang Five Little Pumpkins to go with our scene. It is always a favorite this time of year.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said, Oh, my it's getting late!
The second one said, There are witches in the air!
The third one said, But we don't care!
The fourth one said, Let's run and run and run!
The fifth one said, I'm ready for some fun!
Then Wooo went the wind
And out (clap) went the lights
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!

Tips for Halloween Fun with Kids
Tip 1: Keep it simple. Dollar store finds go a long way - no need for fancy supplies to make magical memories.
Tip 2: Lean into the mess (a little). A towel under the table or tray on the floor makes cleanup quick, so kids can focus on play.
Tip 3: Mix play with learning. Sneak in skills like counting, sorting, or positional words while you craft and play together.
