    Candy Corn Counting

    Do you love Halloween Activities and Halloween Food? This Candy Corn Counting game is a fun Halloween activity that combines both those things! It takes little time to set up and can be played using any variety of candy you happen to have around.

    If your little ones are counting down the days until Halloween, you can also have some fun with a Halloween Invitation to Play and make Candy Corn Cookies.

    Counting is such an important skill for preschoolers to learn. But that doesn't mean it can't be fun! This Counting Game with Buttons and Muffin Cups is another great way to combine learning with play.

    🎃Why Candy Corn Counting Is Fun

    • This yummy math game is a great opportunity to practice counting and even fine motor skills as little fingers pick up the candy corns.
    • Kids get to eat candy corn when they are done with the activity!
    • This is a great way to use Halloween candy for learning.


    👻Supply Notes

    • 10 Foam sheet pumpkins - We found these foam pumpkins at the dollar store. They have a jack o'lantern face on one side and the other side is blank. We used the blank side. If you can't find these pumpkins you can make your own using sheets of orange craft foam.
    • Candy corn - Or any type of small candy.
    • Permanent Marker - To write the numbers on the pumpkins.

    📋How To Count With Candy Corn Pumpkins

    STEP 1: Get 10 foam pumpkins and write the numbers 1-10 on them. Fill a cup with candy corn.

    STEP 2: Children will be placing the correct number of candy corns on each pumpkin.

    STEP 3: Have kids count when they are done with each pumpkin to check their work.

    You can let your child enjoy a few pieces of candy corn when they are done. Happy Halloween!

    Kids will love these Halloween I Spy printables. This printable I Spy is fun for kids of all ages. Kids will look and find each Halloween item and then write down how many of each item they find. This helps them with visual discrimination skills as well as writing and counting. So many skills to practice with these kids printables. Great for the classroom or for home use. Kids will love doing these to celebrate Halloween.

    Do I need to use candy corn?

    You can use any type of candy, but I thought candy corn gave it a fun Halloween flair.

    What if I can't find orange foam pumpkins?

    You can make small pumpkins like shown in the activity on construction paper. Simply cut them out and write numbers on them.

    ✂️Expert Tips

    Tip 1: This game but be a little tempting for kids, so you can set aside a small amount of candy corn for them to enjoy.

    Tip 2: You can extend this math activity by asking kids questions: which is the biggest number? Smallest? How many do you have if you add the candy from 2 pumpkins together?
