    Ingredients For M&M Cookies Recipe

    • Chocolate chip cookie mix: This forms the base of your cookies and is an easy shortcut.
    • Salted butter: Adds richness and helps create a tender texture.
    • Egg: Helps to bind everything together and adds moisture to the dough.
    • Pretzels: Adds a salty crunch, balancing the sweetness of the cookies. Any type of pretzels will do.

How to Make Homemade M&M Cookies

Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper or use a non-stick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, egg, and chocolate chip cookie mix. Make sure to mix thoroughly. If you're mixing by hand, this might take a few minutes to ensure everything is well incorporated.

Next, crunch up the potato chips and gently fold them into the cookie batter. Repeat the process with the pretzels.

Using a small sturdy cup, break the peanut M&Ms to your desired size and fold them into the batter as well.

Using a cookie scoop, place the dough on the baking pan and refrigerate for 30 minutes before baking. Bake for 12-16 minutes. Once the edges are brown, remove the cookies from the oven and let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Tips for Making Cookies With M&Ms

Tip 1: Chilling the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes helps the cookies maintain their shape and prevents them from spreading too much during baking.

Tip 2: Overmixing can make the cookies tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.

Tip 3: Watch the cookies while they bake. The edges should be golden brown, but the centers will still look a bit soft. They’ll continue to cook as they cool on the baking sheet.

    Ingredients

    • 17.5 oz package of chocolate chip cookie mix 1 package
    • 4 oz salted butter 1 stick at room temperature
    • 1 egg
    • ½ cup pretzels any of your choice; crushed
    • ½ cup potato chips any plain potato chip; crushed
    • ½ cup peanut M&M’s any kind of M&M will work

    Instructions

    • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9x13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper, or you can use a non-stick cooking spray.
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, egg, and chocolate chip cookie mix using a mixer or by hand. Make sure the batter is well combined before adding any mix-ins. If mixing by hand, be aware that it may take a few minutes to fully incorporate the butter and eggs.
    • Next, crush the potato chips and gently fold them into the cookie batter. Do the same with the pretzels, folding them in until evenly distributed.
    • For the peanut M&M's, use a small cup with a flat bottom to break them into your desired size, then mix the pieces into the batter.
    • Use a cookie scoop to scoop the dough onto the baking sheet a few inches apart.
    • Place the baking sheet with the raw cookies in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking. Once chilled, bake them in the center of the oven for 12 to 16.
    • When the edges of the cookies begin to brown, remove them from the oven and let them rest on the baking sheet for a few minutes to continue cooking. Then, use a spatula to transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.

    Notes

    • Pop the cookie dough in the fridge for about 30 minutes - it'll help the cookies keep their shape and stop them from spreading too much when you bake them.
    • Don't overmix - tough cookies are no fun! Just mix until everything's combined.
    • Keep an eye on those cookies in the oven. The edges should turn golden brown, but the centers will be a bit soft - they'll finish cooking as they cool on the tray.

I love the crunchie M&M cookies. Great for when I want sweet and salty. I was a little hesitant at first but the family loved them too and they were finished before I could save some for later.
