    ⭐Why This Recipe Works

    • In 30 minutes you can have delicious cookies made from scratch.
    • These cookies stay soft and chewy!
    • The M&M's provide a delightful texture to the cookies because of the candy shell.

    🥣Ingredient Notes

    • Butter - softened. I used salted butter but you can use unsalted butter if you prefer.
    • Granulated sugar - I like the combination of granulated and brown sugar in cookies because I find they produce cookies with great flavor and texture.
    • Brown sugar - You can use light or dark brown sugar.
    • Vanilla extract - To enhance the other flavors in the recipe.
    • Egg - I used a large egg at room temperature.
    • Red, white, and blue M&M's - They sell this variety in a package during the summer.
    • Chocolate chips -I prefer milk chocolate chips, but semi-sweet chips would also work.

📋How to Make Red White and Blue Cookies with M&Ms

STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, cream softened butter, with white and brown sugar. I used a  handheld mixer but a stand mixer would work as well. Mix on medium speed for two minutes, until the mixture is incorporated and fluffy. Set aside.

STEP 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Add egg and vanilla to the bowl that you set aside with the butter and sugar mixture. Beat in the egg and vanilla until combined.

STEP 6: Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the edges start to brown. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them sit for a few minutes then move to a cooling rack.

You want to be sure not to overcook these M&M Easter Cookies. You want to take them out of the oven while the middles are still a little soft.

    👩🏻‍🍳Expert Tips

Tip 1: You can use a handheld mixer or stand mixer in this recipe.

Tip 2: As you mix the candy into the dough, take care not to break up any of the M&M candies as this will result in the color spreading throughout the dough.

    🤷🏻‍♀️Recipe FAQs
