Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray the bundt pan with cooking spray and set aside. In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, combine the cake mixes, eggs, butter and milk and mix on medium speed until fully combined, about 5 minutes.

Divide the batter into 3 bowls. Add red food coloring into one bowl and mix until combined. Add blue food coloring into the second bowl and mix until combined. Leave the third bowl white.

Using a spoon, scoop a spoonful of each color into the bundt pan, alternating between colors.

Once done, place into the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes. Remove when a toothpick poked into the cake comes out clean.

Let the red white and blue cake cool completely in the bundt pan. Once cooled, place a serving plate on the top of the bundt pan and flip the pan over so that the cake can come out onto the plate.

    Vanilla glaze ingredients

    2 cups powder sugar
    2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
    3-5 tablespoon whole milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine all ingredients into a medium bowl and mix until smooth. Pour the glaze into a measuring cup like this one that has a spout for easy pouring. Pour the glaze evenly onto the cake. Sprinkle some patriotic sprinkles onto the glaze and let the glaze harden before serving.

    Frequently asked questions

I can't find vanilla cake mix. Can I use white cake mix instead?

Yes, you can. I prefer the flavor or vanilla, but white cake mix works too.

How do I store this fourth of July bundt cake?

You can store any leftover in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 4 days. I like to take it out 30 minutes before eating to allow the cake the reach room temperature.
