How To Make St. Patrick's Day Shamrock Craft

Give your child a cup full of green beads and a pipe cleaner and have them fill up almost the entire pipe cleaner with the beads. Leave about an inch on both ends of the pipe cleaner to make the stem.

Getting the beads onto the pipe cleaner is a fine motor exercise for little hands as they work their pincer grasp..

Twist the rest of the beaded pipe cleaner into a shamrock or clover shape. This will probably be a step for an adult. Add a ribbon for a pretty St. Patrick's Day necklace or use it on a table for festive decor.

As a special treat, make these St. Patrick's Day Cake Balls with your kids when they are done with this activity.

    Tips For Pipe Cleaner Shamrocks

Tip 1: You will need one pipe cleaner and roughly 36-40 beads for each pipe cleaner shamrock you wish to make.

Tip 2: Once finished, hang the shamrock on the fridge, add it to a festive garland, or use it as a table decoration for St. Patrick’s Day.

Tip 3: Use different colors of green beads and throw in an occasional gold bead to really add some flair to this decoration.

    FAQs For Beaded Shamrock

Will the beads fall off while my child is placing them on the pipe cleaner?

They will not fall off since the fit of the beads on the pipe cleaner will be snug. They will stay in place until moved.

How do you make the pipe cleaner into a shamrock shape?

The pipe cleaner is very flexible so once you have it in a circle shape, simply push in the edges on each side and adjust until it looks like a shamrock.
