How To Make Slime Without Borax
Pour an entire 5 oz bottle of clear glue into a bowl.

Add in ½ cup of water to the glue. Squeeze in a few drops of green food coloring and mix. Next, add ½ teaspoon baking soda and stir. Then, add in the green glitter (or as my kids call it, pixie dust).

Now, it is time to add the green sequins and those cute Tinker Bell toys. Add 1 tablespoon contact solution. The slime will begin to form instantly.

The slime mixture will be STICKY at this point, but don’t panic! Mix the solution in the bowl until it starts to take shape. Knead the slime until it is no longer sticky. Store in an airtight container.

What Kids Learn Playing with Slime
Playing with slime is more than just fun for kids; it’s a hands-on way to explore textures and build sensory skills. It also encourages creativity as they experiment with colors, add-ins, and shapes.
Plus, it can spark problem-solving as they figure out how to mix and adjust the slime to get the perfect stretch or squish.

Tips For Making Slime
Tip 1: Mix your glue and water thoroughly before adding any other ingredients. This makes the base smooth and the texture consistent.
Tip 2: When adding green glitter and sequins, don’t be afraid to adjust the amount to match the level of sparkle and “pixie dust” you want. Just remember, a little goes a long way!
Tip 3: If the slime feels sticky after adding the contact solution, don’t panic! Keep kneading it, and it will eventually reach the right stretchy consistency. Patience is key!

FAQs For Slime Without Borax
Yes, you can use regular white glue, but the slime won’t have the same transparent and sparkly look that clear glue gives. It will still be fun to play with, just a little different in appearance!
Kids can help measure and mix the glue, water, and glitter, as well as add the sequins and Tinkerbell figures. Make sure an adult handles the contact solution since it’s key to getting the slime’s texture just right.
Store the slime in an airtight container or sealed plastic bag when not in use. This helps keep it stretchy and prevents it from drying out. Always make sure hands are clean before playing with it too!
