⭐Why You'll Love Pepperoni Pizza Roses
- Kids will enjoy the whimsical appearance of these easy pizza roses. Since this recipe is simple to make, they can be involved in cooking.
- Makes a delicious appetizer for a party or a tasty light lunch (similar to our Crescent Roll Pizza Ring) when served with a side salad.
- The classic combo of pepperoni, dough, melted cheese and tomato sauce and the simple ingredients appeal to a wide audience.
🥣Ingredient Notes
- Pizza Dough - Store-bought or homemade. This serves as the base for your beautiful pizza roses.
- Pepperoni - If you are making these for kids and they don't like the flavor of pepperoni, you can substitute small slices of salami.
- Mozzarella Cheese - Shredded. A high-quality mozzarella cheese will melt better and add a creamy texture to the roses.
- Pizza Sauce - You can use store-bought pizza sauce, homemade pizza sauce, or marinara sauce for dipping. I like to warm the tomato sauce.
📋How To Make Pepperoni Pizza Roses
STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured flat surface and cut into strips about an inch wide and 11-12 inches in length.
You can cut using a knife or a pizza cutter.
STEP 2: Place 6-8 pepperonis onto the strips of pizza crust, leaving some dough at the end.
STEP 3: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on the pepperoni.
STEP 4: Roll the filled strips up into a rose shape starting from one of the long ends. Tightly roll the dough like you would with cinnamon rolls.
Make sure the pepperoni slices are visible near the edges. Place the pepperoni rose pizzas on a greased baking sheet.
STEP 5: Bake the pepperoni rose petals for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees.
The finished product will have a rose-petal look. Dunk in pizza sauce or your favorite dipping sauce and enjoy.
