I am currently obsessed with my air fryer, so I decided to make a grilled Caprese Air Fryer Sandwich. It is one of the best sandwich recipes I have ever made!
One of my favorite salads is a Caprese salad. What I love about it is the wonderful mix of flavors between the juicy ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, fragrant basil, and the mellow tartness of balsamic vinegar.

Some think air fryers are best for frozen foods like French fries or mozzarella sticks. But you can do much more with an air fryer. I love using mine to bake and make toasted sandwiches or this Air Fryer Portobello Mushroom Pizza. Check out how easy it is to make a gooey, cheesy sandwich with an air fryer.
Some of my favorite air fryers to use for Air fryer recipes are the Ninja and the Cosori.
How to make a grilled caprese sandwich in the air fryer
To make this yummy air fryer sandwich, preheat your air fryer to 350 degrees. Some air fryers do not require preheating. If you're is one of these you can skip this step.
To assemble your sandwich, layer 3 slices of tomatoes on one half of the bread. On the slices of bread, layer the sliced fresh mozzarella and basil. Top with salt and pepper to taste.
Drizzle with balsamic vinegar over the slices with the tomatoes and then combine with mozzarella and basil slices to create a sandwich. Place the bread on the air fryer pan.
Air Fry for 5 minutes at 350 degrees or until the mozzarella cheese has melted and the bread has toasted.
This sandwich has all the flavors you'd expect from a classic Caprese salad.
I love serving this Caprese Air Fryer Sandwich with these Aged Parmesan Cheese Sticks.
