Peanut butter would also work well. If you are dealing with peanut allergies, then you can substitute sunflower butter.
Due to the nature of rice cakes, they typically will not store well when decorated. I would make these when you are ready to serve them.
Do your kids love cooking?
I have long been a proponent of cooking with kids. There are so many things kids learn helping out in the kitchen. Math, reading, chemistry, cooperation and more are used while following a recipe.
