    ⭐Why This Craft is Awesome

    • Very versatile - you can fill it with pretzels, nuts candy...
    • Mason jar snowman craft makes a great gift.
    • A new way to use the ever popular mason jar.

    🖍️Craft Supplies Notes

supplies to make snowman mason jars

2 Mason Jars - any size will do depending on what you want to fill them with.
Blue Felt - one sheet will suffice.
Rick Rack Trim - just a few yards.
Blue Pipe Cleaner - to make ear muffs for the snowman.
2 White Pom Poms - for the ear muffs.
1-2 Cotton Balls - to make whisps of snow for the snowman.
Black Construction Paper - for the hat.
Hot glue gun - Since making these jars involves a hot glue gun, I would only make these with older children, and even then, use careful supervision as a glue gun can cause burns.

    📋Step by Step Instructions

STEP 1: Glue 3 buttons on each mason jar with the hot glue gun. You can use whatever color buttons you have on hand or happen to like. They don't all need to be the same color. Where the buttons are will be the center front of the jar.

STEP 2: Cut the red rick rack trim and blue felt to fit around the jar lids. Make sure to make these longer than the circumference of the jar lid so that the small scarf can hang down. Using the glue gun, glue the trim and felt onto the sides of the lids.

TEP 3: Cut out 1 large circle to fit on one of the lids, a rectangle to create the body of the hat, and a smaller circle for the top of the hat out of the black construction paper.

STEP 4: Glue the larger circle to the lid of one of the mason jars to form the brim. Roll the rectangle into a cylinder and glue it together, then glue the cylinder to the smaller circle. Finally, glue the smaller circle on the top of the lid of the mason jar to make the snowman's hat.

STEP 5: Remove a little cotton from a cotton ball and glue it onto the hat in a few places to represent snow. Add a button to the front of the hat for decoration. On the other lid, glue a pipe cleaner to each side, then glue on the 2 white pom poms to make snowman earmuffs.

STEP 6: Then it's time to fill the jars with some treats.

STEP 7: Twist on the mason jar lids, and your snowmen treats are ready to go!

You can also fill the jars with mini powdered donuts or marshmallows and present the jar with a package of hot chocolate mix. What I love about these jars, is that even after the recipient eats all the yummy treats, they can fill them with cotton balls and still use the jars as a holiday decoration.

    Tips for Snowman Jars

Tip 1: Since making these jars involves a hot glue gun, I would only make these with older children, and even then, use careful supervision as a glue gun can cause burns.

Tip 2: You can use bigger jars to fit larger items.
