Ingredients For Apple Butter Pork Chop Recipe

    • Pork Chops: Use bone-in pork chops for juicy goodness. Boneless works, too, and it cooks faster.
    • Apples: Sweet and a little tart, perfect with pork. Firm ones like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work best.
    • Apple Butter: Makes the pork tender and flavorful. Make your own with this Apple Butter Recipe or grab a jar from the store.
    • Butter: Adds richness as you sauté the apples.
    • Brown Sugar: Caramelizes the apples and pork, adding sweetness.
    • Chili Powder: Adds a bit of spice.
    • Heavy Cream: Makes everything creamy and smooth.
    • Garlic Powder: Adds a hint of garlic without being overpowering.
    • Onion Powder: For subtle onion flavor.

How To Make Apple Butter Glazed Pork Chops

Create a seasoning salt for the pork chops by combining ¼ teaspoon of  each ingredient: salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Season both sides of each pork chop with the seasoned salt blend.

raw pork chops with salt and pepper

Melt two tablespoons of butter over medium/high heat in a large skillet. Add the seasoned pork chops and cook on each side for about 3 minutes. Then, remove them from the pan and set them aside.

Slice and core each apple using an apple slicer. I leave the skin on, but you can also remove the skin after slicing.

Melt one tablespoon of butter in the skillet you used to cook the pork chops. Add the apple slices, stir, and cook until they have softened a bit, for about 5 minutes.

Pour ¼ of the jar of apple butter, brown sugar, and chili powder. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

    Notes

    • Tossing on some fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary takes this dish up a notch.
