    Other French Toast Casseroles

I love making French toast casseroles because they are so versatile. You can make them with different breads, like brioche or sourdough and get a new flavor experience each time.

If you're in the mood for something sweet, you can add fresh berries or maple syrup. If savory is more your thing, then add some bacon or chopped pecans. These variations make it so this breakfast casserole never gets boring.

FAQs for Croissant French Toast Casserole

Can I Use Regular Bread Instead Of Croissants?

You can use regular bread instead of croissants, but the texture and taste will be different. Croissants have a buttery, flaky texture, while regular bread is denser and less sweet.

Also, regular bread might not absorb the liquid the same way that croissants do. But using regular bread is certainly an option when you don't have croissants on hand.

    How Can I Store Leftovers?

If you have any leftovers, simply store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. When you would like to enjoy this breakfast again, reheat individual portions in the microwave.

Leftovers can also be frozen if you don't plan to eat them right away. Simply slice and wrap each piece in plastic wrap and place it in a freezer bag. When ready to use, warm them up in the microwave or oven. They'll come out almost as good as when they were first made.

Do I Need To Make This Ahead Of Time?

You don't have to make this ahead of time. If you prefer to just bake it up in the morning, just prep it and follow the instructions for baking in the recipe below.

I do think that this tastes better when you allow it to sit overnight. The croissants are really able to soak up all the yummy custard, making this extra delicious.

    Recipes to Make With Croissants

Croissants are not just for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea. You can use them in a variety of recipes. They make great breakfast sandwiches that can be filled with ham and cheese for a quick lunch. Here are our favorite ways to enjoy them:

    • Moroccan Spicy Sweet Apple Croissants
    • Simple Croissant Bread Pudding
    • Croque Monsieur Croissant
    • Ham and Cheese Croissants

    Kitchen Supplies You'll Need

To bake this breakfast, you will need some basic kitchen items. A 9X13-inch casserole dish is needed, and it helps with storage if it comes with a cover. A casserole carrier is perfect if you plan to bring this to a brunch or potluck.

Yes, you can. You just need to let the casserole thaw in the refrigerator for a day or two before cooking as you don't want to cook straight from frozen.
